Final Workshop – GLITSS Trilogy – Volume 1 Successfully Held 

The GLITSS is pleased to announce that the Final Workshop of GLITSS Trilogy – Volume 1, Illicit Trade and its Consequences for Safety, Security and Sustainability, was successfully held on 19–20 February. The workshop was hosted by the University of Tirana, at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Tirana, within the Department of Informatics, Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Tirana, Albania. Over the course of two days, scholars and experts engaged in in-depth discussions on the complex and evolving nature of illicit trade and its far-reaching consequences for safety, security, and sustainability. Particular emphasis was placed on emerging digital dimensions, cybercrime, governance frameworks, and the broader implications for sustainable development and global stability.

The Final Workshop marked the successful conclusion of Volume 1 of the GLITSS Trilogy, reaffirming the project’s commitment to fostering interdisciplinary research and international academic collaboration. GLITSS extends its sincere appreciation to all contributors, presenters, discussants, and participants whose expertise and engagement made this event a meaningful and productive exchange. We look forward to continuing this important work in the next phase.
