Civil Society’s Responses to Illicit Trade

6 February - 7 February

Under the Cost Action GLITSS we had the privilege of organizing a workshop in Palermo on Civil Society’s Responses to Illicit Trade.

A huge thank you to Umberto Di Maggio, Francesca Forno, and Università LUMSA for hosting us on February 6-7, 2025, and to Università di Trento for their collaboration in bringing this event to life!

We were delighted to welcome Baris Cayli Messina, Carina Gunnarson, and Theodoros Rakopoulos as keynote speakers. Alongside insightful presentations by Prof. Dr.Besa Shahini, Mirela Tase, Ludovica Boelting, H. Konstantin J., Ilona Dumanska, Boban Misoski, Jaroslav Dvorak and Clara Rondani, their contributions sparked engaging discussions on what defines civil society, how this term can sometimes be misused, the processes that turn individuals into mobilized communities, and the impact of the digital world in driving change.

A massive thank you to all participants for making this workshop an engaging platform filled with insightful discussions and iexchanges.
